Sakota is the new AEK coach replacing Ziagkos

AEK announced today (11/11) that Dragan Sakota will lead the club through their new era in the Basket League. The experienced coach who led AEK to the top back in 2002, returns to the team now his son Dusan plays until 2017. He presented his plan that will last for the next 3 years and is about to bring AEK back to the top, the board agreed and the 62-years-old coach will debut this weekend against Apollon Patras replacing Nikos Ziagkos.

Dragan Sakota has spent many of his year’s career in the Greek League coaching PAOK, Aris, A.E.K., Apollon Patras, Iraklis, Peristeri and Olympiacos. He has also coached Cibona, Bologna, Trabzonspor and Red Star Belgrade among others. In 2006 he was the head coach of the Serbian National team but without any success.

After the acquisition of Delinikaitis and English, “Dikefalos” seems to complete the puzzle of the new team with the Serbian coach hoping to step up since tight now they are positioned 3rd from the bottom.
