Steph Curry shares thoughts on James Wiseman learning through the struggles

James Wiseman had a tough night against the Los Angeles Lakers in Golden State’s comeback win on Monday. Steph Curry explained how the rookie has to handle his struggles night in and night out.

Wiseman had early foul trouble in the game against the Lakers and watched most of the second half from the bench as Kevon Looney and Eric Paschall shared minutes in the center position.

“I know he’s a perfectionist and he wants to be great and he wants to be as productive as he can in his minutes and finish games,” Curry said. “That’s great. We want him to have that sense of care, that expectation of greatness. But he can’t get too overwhelmed, in terms of, when it’s not working or he’s having a bad game.

“Just stick with it. Just keep his composure and keep his mind engaged to learn the lessons that he needs to learn. Because that’ll help in the long run, that’ll help in the stretch of the season.”

Wiseman has a promising start in his rookie season being the starting center of the Golden State Warriors. He averages 10.0 points and 6.0 rebounds shooting 48.0% from the field.
