James Harden has met a familiar face as he played his first game in Nets’ uniform, since his trade from the Houston Rockets was finalized.

The 2018 MVP talked about reuniting with coach Mike D’Antoni, who is part of the Nets’ coaching staff this season. D’Antoni joined Nash in Brooklyn, after he decided to part ways with the Houston Rockets last summer.

“Mike’s an unbelievable coach. He’s been doing it for a very, very long time,” Harden said. “Obviously Mike is a factor. Being comfortable with him being comfortable with Kevin, knowing Kyrie, just those four pieces right there made it easy. Obviously them being in Brooklyn, for me it was a no-brainer.”

Harden had a historic start in his Nets’ career registering a 30-point triple-double. In particular, he had 32 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists to help the Nets secure the victory over Orlando.

Brooklyn’s fans are waiting for Kyrie Irving’s return to see their team in full strength, as Kevin Durant seemed ready to take over the league after missing a season due to injury.

Durant was also unstoppable in the Nets’ 122-115 win against the Magic as he tallied 42 points to lead his team in scoring. This was his first 40-point game of his career in Brooklyn.
