The four-team trade involving James Harden will have an impact not only on the Brooklyn Nets and the Houston Rockets but other teams as well. One of the prominent names that could be moved following the trade is Andre Drummond of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cavs acquired Jarrett Allen from the Brooklyn Nets and gave up their first round pick. The expectation among some Eastern Conference executives is that Cleveland will trade Drummond as Allen plays the same position, but is five years younger.
“Drummond is definitely out of Cleveland,” one Eastern Conference executive predicted via Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. “Cleveland wouldn’t give up a first if they didn’t want Allen long-term.”
This season, the 27-year-old center is averaging 18 points, 15.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.6 blocks per game.
