The Oklahoma City Thunder guard George Hill expressed his skepticism against the NBA’s tightened COVID-19 protocols that were announced on Tuesday.
Among the several new guidelines, players and staff will need to quarantine at home or hotel, when they do not practice or play. The only exceptions are referred to essential activities and working out outside.

“I’m a grown man, so I’m gonna do what I wanna do,” Hill said after OKC’s 112-102 loss to the Spurs Tuesday. “If I wanna go see my family, I’m gonna go see my family.
They can’t tell me I have to stay in the room 24/7. If it’s that serious then maybe we shouldn’t be playing. It’s life. No one’s gonna be able to just cancel their whole life for this game. That’s how I think about it.
I just don’t understand some of the rules as far as we can sweat 48 minutes with the guy next to us and the team next to us, but we can’t talk to him after the game. It makes no sense.”
Hill is helping the young Thunder core offering much-needed veteran leadership this season. The former Bucks’ guard joined the Thunder via trade in the past offseason.
The NBA decided to implement more strict COVID-19 protocols due to the increase number of positives in the last few weeks that resulted in several games postponements.
