James Harden says Rockets are just not good enough: “It’s something that I don’t think can be fixed”

Houston Rockets star James Harden sounds like he is growing more dissatisfied with the team’s performance so far this season.

At his postgame press conference, Harden got up and left the podium immediately after discussing the team.

“I love this city. I’ve literally done everything I can. I mean, this situation is crazy. It’s something that I don’t think can be fixed. Thanks,” said Harden.

That’s as close to publicly requesting a trade that a player can get, notes ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.

Here’s video of him walking out of the postgame conference:

Harden is aware that the Rockets are continuing to discuss trade scenarios with teams, although no deal is imminent, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Rockets’ asking price remains steep for a player of Harden’s caliber.

Harden’s teammates were left to address his comments, but John Wall didn’t specifically mention them.

“When you have certain guys that don’t want to buy in, it’s hard,” said Wall, also adding that his chemistry with Harden has “been a little rocky.”

“I don’t think it’s been the best, that’s all I can say,” Wall added.

Harden’s contract doesn’t have a no-trade protection, meaning the Rockets could trade him anywhere.

Harden reportedly gave the Rockets a list of preferred trade destinations that includes the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers and Boston Celtics.
