Washington Wizards star Russell Westbrook is expected to miss the next week of play with a left quadriceps injury, the team announced.

The injury was suffered “due to repeated contact to the area since the beginning of the season.”

Westbrook will be re-evaluated at the end of the week.

In seven games, the 32-year-old is averaging 19.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, 11.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

The Wizards just lost center Thomas Bryant for the rest of the season due to a torn ACL, but they will get star Bradley Beal back after he missed last game due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
