Olympiacos chooses Sfairopoulos as their new coach

Giannis Sfairopoulos will replace Bartzokas and will lead Olympiacos for the next two years, with Milas Tomic as an assistant.

The Greek coach was part of Olympiacos coaching team two times in the past, as an assistant to Jonas Kazlauskas and then Pini Gershon. He also worked with Kazlauskas in 2009 as part of the Greek National Team, leading them to the third place, and in CSKA Moscow.

Since 1997, Sfairopoulos has successfully coached Kolossos Rhodes, PAOK and Panionios.

It was quite clear that despite the good effort from Tomic, the team needed a more experienced coach, who was rumored to be Soulis Markopoulos, but Aggelopoulos brothers decided to give Sfairopoulos control in a very crucial part of the season.
