Houston Rockets head coach Stephen Silas had some words of praise for big man DeMarcus Cousins after the center got ejected vs. the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night.

Cousins was given his marching orders after a hard foul on LeBron James, deemed a flagrant 2, in the second quarter. But prior to that, he got into it with Markieff Morris after the Lakers forward knocked Jae’Sean Tate down off the ball.

The earlier bit with Morris earned Boogie a flagrant 1 and a technical foul. But, per ESPN’s Tim McMahon, Silas applauded Cousins’ sticking up for his rookie teammate.

Morris received a flagrant 1 and was ejected immediately following his reaction.

The Lakers won 120-102 on the night.
