The San Antonio Spurs will not have their superstar DeMar DeRozan available for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

According to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News, DeRozan’s absence is not related to COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

In particular, he has left the Spurs’ road trip to tend to his ill father at home in Los Angeles. DeRozan led the Spurs to the win in Saturday’s game against the Timberwolves.

The multiple times NBA all-star scored 38 points to extend San Antonio’s winning streak to three games. The veteran swingman could likely miss Tuesday’s matchup versus the Oklahoma City Thunder.

DeRozan is leading his team in points and assists this season averaging 21.2 points and 7.0 assists through nine games.
