Frank Vogel opened up about his decision to have Markieff Morris in the starting lineup of the Lakers against the Chicago Bulls.

Vogel, the head coach of the Lakers, noted he wanted to give Morris more minutes on the floor.

“With ‘Kieff, it was called managing the roster. He’s been a little bit shortchanged with minutes and hasn’t really had a chance to blow it out and get some big run. Obviously he was a huge contributor for us last year in a championship run.

With A.D. out, it was an opportunity to get him some extended minutes. He’s someone we believe in and he had a great performance,” Vogel said about Morris, via Lakers Nation.

In his first start this season, Markieff Morris had 11 points (5/8 shooting) and six rebounds, as the Lakers defeated the Bulls (115-117).
