After a great, productive performance against the Denver Nuggets in overtime, scoring 38 points and almost reaching a triple-double, Luka Doncic was asked by Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley about the players that have influenced his game so far, via Eurohoops:

“I would say some of everything. Obviously, I watched Lebron and I had great teammates back in Spain like Sergio Llull, Rudy Fernandez, Felipe Reyes. They are great Spanish teammates, I learned a lot from them. I mostly watched Spanoulis, I don’t know if you guys know him but he played in Olympiacos. But you know I think parts of every player influenced my game, that’s how I see it.”

Charles Barkley joked on Spanoulis’ name as he confused his name with Jeff Spicoli, Sean Penn’s character in the 80s comedy “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”. Luka Doncic was a bit confused with his answer since the Dallas Mavericks star is just 21 years old and quite young to know the film and Barkley’s reference.
