Alonzo Mourning on his intensity as a leader during Miami’s 2006 championship: “Some of the guys didn’t like me because I got in their faces”

Alonzo Mourning was known as a player who brought great energy and enthusiasm on & off the floor.

In 2006, Mourning entered the later end of his career during the Heat’s title run and knew his leadership was much needed.

The Hall of Famer says it wasn’t easy trying to keep teammates focused on a daily basis, as he continued to stay on them throughout the playoffs.

(Via Knuckleheads with Quentin Richardson & Darius Miles):

“When you’re there, you got to seize the moment, you got to leave it all out there. Some of the guys didn’t like me because I got in their faces.”
