Pistons’ rookie Killian Hayes out indefinitely with torn labrum

The Detroit Pistons rookie Killian Hayes is out indefinitely as he suffered a torn labrum in his right hip. The franchise did not make known an exact return timetable and will continue to be evaluated by the medical staff.

The team said an MRI performed Tuesday confirmed the diagnosis. Hayes suffered the injury during Monday’s loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Detroit drafted Hayes with the No. 7 pick last year. He has averaged 4.6 points and 21.1 minutes in seven games. The Pistons play at Milwaukee on Wednesday night.

Dwayne Casey decided to make the rookie a starter at the beginning of the season with Derrick Rose coming off the bench.
