Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie underwent successful ACL reconstruction surgery on his right knee, the team announced.

Dinwiddie will begin rehabilitation next week and is expected to make a full recovery.

The fact that Dinwiddie had a reconstruction rather than a repair essentially eliminates any chance of him returning this season.

The 27-year-old suffered the injury in the team’s 106-104 loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Dec. 27.

In three games this season, Dinwiddie averaged 6.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in 21.4 minutes per game.
