During Francisco Garcia’s pre-draft journey in 2005, he stopped in LA for a workout with the Lakers and the first person he saw when arriving at the facility happened to be Kobe Bryant.
The two briefly met, as Kobe told the rookie he was actually staying for his workout, which left Garcia more ready than ever to show Bryant just how high of a level his energy & competitiveness were at.
The workout started with four players, but LA wanted to get a better look at only Francisco & Antoine Wright and had them stay longer. When their workout eventually ended, Garcia wanted to keep going. After expressing that he didn’t want to leave, Kobe & Francisco then shared a Mamba Moment together.

“No I’m good. I can keep going.” Garcia replied.
“From that day, me & him became cool.” the former Sacramento King added.
