The Boston Celtics seem not in hurry for Kemba Walker’s return, as Brad Stevens admitted that the All-Star is not anywhere near getting back in the court.

Walker received experimental treatment in his knee prior to the season start. Throughout the 2019/20 season, he experienced intermittent bouts of soreness that caused him to miss games.

He was on minutes restriction during the NBA season restart in Orlando a few months back. Walker will be re-evaluated on January based on Celtics’ update prior to the 2020/21 season start.

“No update that I’ve received, other than that he’s progressing,” Stevens said. “I think we’ll have a better idea or a big picture update in the next week sometime — as we thought, right around the turn of the new year.

He won’t be back anytime soon. Certainly we’re hopeful to get him back as soon as possible, but we want to make sure that when we do it’s for good. That’s the most critical thing from our standpoint.”
