Ja Morant will be sidelined for several weeks, after suffering an ankle injury during the game against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday.

Morant had medical tests, which showed a Grade 2 ankle sprain and will be sidelined for the next three to five weeks.

Since he managed to avoid a long-term injury, Morant is expected to return to action in mid to late January.

The star of the Memphis Grizzlies got injured late in the first half, as he landed awkwardly after contesting a jumper from Brooklyn Nets swingman Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot.

Morant was forced to exit the game and did not return. The Grizzlies earned the 116-111 win over the Nets in overtime.
