Russell Westbrook and Scott Brooks addressed the loss of the Washington Wizards to the Philadelphia 76ers in the season opener (107-113).

Westbrook and coach Brooks made it clear they want the Wizards to start winning and are tired of ‘moral victories’.

“The results matter. We’re not happy. There’s no moral victories. Last year, I thought we had just a different mindset. Not good or bad, we were just in a different place.

This year, there are no moral victories. We have to come out and keep competing,” coach Brook told reporters, via Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington.

“Not good enough. Honestly, I’m kind of disappointed in myself. I had some mishaps and plays where I could have been better and had a better game to try to win.

I don’t like moral victories at any point in my career. I always like to go out and try to win the game. I’ve gotta be better and I’ll be better next game,” Westbrook said.

Westbrook needed just three quarters to post a triple-double in his season debut with the Wizards (21 points, 11 rebounds, 15 assists).

Westbrook and Washington will host the Orlando Magic on Saturday.
