The Los Angeles Lakers started their title defense this season with a loss to the Clippers on the opening night, which also was the ring night for the 2020 NBA champions. After losing twice to the Lakers in preseason, the Clippers bounced back to win the first game of the season 116-109.
After the game, the Lakers superstar LeBron James, who had 22 points, five rebounds and five assists, shared his thoughts on what went wrong for his team in the loss. He pointed at the poor first quarter for his team which was won by the Clippers 39-19.
“This game was the first test for us. We literally been together for nine days as a full group. We got some returning guys but we got a lot of new pieces that’s gonna play a big role in our success this year. We look forward to watching the film tomorrow and get better from tonight,” James said.
