The Los Angeles Lakers parted ways with two centers Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee this offseason and replaced them with Marc Gasol. The 35-year-old Spaniard is different type of player that Howard and McGee.
Gasol is not as athletic as the two former Lakers centers but has other skills such as passing and shooting. This change will have an impact on the Lakers game, according to Markieff Morris.
“Last year we relied on a lot on athleticism of our bigs Dwight and JaVale protecting the rim, catching a lot of lobs. It’s definitely gonna be a lot different from Marc,” Morris said.
“Marc is going to be able to space the floor, pass the ball, but we won’t see the crazy dunks & the crazy blocks from him…the versatility of the bigs we had last year will be a lot different this year.”
