Maccabi Tel-Aviv earns first road win over FC Barcelona in 15 years – EuroLeague Round 15: Results and Highlights

Maccabi Tel-Aviv stood tall against fellow EuroLeague powerhouse FC Barcelona and earned a big road win (67-68).

In a late thriller that was decided in the final seconds, Othello Hunter scored the go-ahead two-pointer, with 13.2 seconds to go.

FC Barcelona had the chance to win the game, but Cory Higgins missed the three-pointer at the buzzer and the Israelis claimed their first win at Palau Blaugrana in 15 years.

Maccabi remained close to the playoff zone, after improving to 6-9. Meanwhile, FC Barcelona dropped to second in the standings, with an 11-4 record.

In the other matches, Real Madrid (10-5) survived another overtime thriller in Athens, this time against Olympiacos (7-7) and defeated the “Reds” (82-86).

In Moscow, CSKA dominated Zenit Saint Petersburg (83-65) and extended its winning streak to 10 games to remain on top of the EuroLeague standings (12-3). Meanwhile, Zenit dropped to 8-5.

Bayern Munich (10-5) remained close to the top of the table, after rallying past Baskonia at home (77-66). For their part, the Basques lost their third in a row and dropped to 6-8.

ASVEL Villeurbanne came back from a 15-point deficit and edged Khimki (90-84) to remain perfect in EuroLeague two-game week.

The French now are at 5-9, whereas the Russians are still on the bottom, with a 2-13 record.

In Serbia, Crvena Zvezda snapped a five-game losing streak, thanks to its 76-73 victory over Valencia. The hosts improved to 5-10, whereas the Spaniards missed the chance to climb higher in the standings and dropped to 9-6.
