Jeremy Lin is finalizing a deal with the Golden State Warriors, pending a letter of clearance from the Chinese Basketball Association, according to Shams Charania.

Lin will reportedly play for the Warriors’ G League team, the Santa Cruz Warriors, notes Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

This means that Lin won’t be on the Warriors 15-man roster, but it gives him a chance to be in the team’s system, so they can monitor him throughout the season.

The 32-year-old started his NBA career with the Warriors, playing 29 games with the team in the 2010-2011 season.

Lin recently practiced with the G League Ignite team, but left the team after one scrimmage to pursue other opportunities.

He last played in the NBA in 2018-2019 with the Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors, winning the NBA Finals with the Raptors.

The Warriors will have to cut a player from their 20-man training camp roster to make room for the signing of Lin.
