Even with LeBron James and Anthony Davis back on court, Kyle Kuzma remained one of the top players for the Los Angeles Lakers as he scored 23 points in a preseason win over the Phoenix Suns.

The 25-year-old forward had 18 and 25 points, respectively, in prior preseason games against the Clippers. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel admitted that Kuzma is playing at a high level this preseason.

“He’s playing at a high level, he’s playing with confidence. He’s really not forcing any action. He’s getting his shots within the rhythm of the offense, and you have to honor him,” Vogel said, per Kyle Goon.

Things will likely change when LeBron and AD get in full shape and spend their usual minutes on the floor. Kuzma himself admitted that he is not sure about what his role will be with the Lakers this season.
