The Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis returned to the court for the first time since the 2020 NBA Finals as he made his preseason debut against the Phoenix Suns. The defending champions took the win 112-107.
AD played 18 minutes during which he scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds. After the game, Davis talked about how he felt playing basketball again, admitting that he felt fine and could have played even more minutes.
“I felt great, honestly. Coming in I thought I’m gonna be a little windy. You can try to get in shape all you want but is nothing like getting basketball shape, game shape,” he told Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet.
“I was kind of hesitant about that. But I felt fine. I could have played more but I felt physically fine. I will probably play more on Friday,” Davis said referring to the Lakers’ final preseason game against the Suns.
