DeMarcus Cousins joined the Houston Rockets this offseason as he takes another shot at reviving his NBA career, which has been hit with injuries over the last couple of years. The 30-year-old center arrived to a situation where the team’s superstar, James Harden, is reportedly unhappy and wants to be traded.

However, Cousins is not trying to persuade Harden to stay with the Rockets. In a recent interview, he said he respects Harden’s choice whatever it is.

“At the end of the day, this is a business. You can only respect a guy for doing whatever he feel is best for him, his personal life and his career. So, no, honestly, I haven’t [tried to convince James Harden to commit to the Rockets],” Cousins said, per Tim MacMahon.

“I don’t really feel like that’s my place. That’s a decision he has to make for himself. My job is to, while we’re on the floor and while we’re in practice, to be holding everybody accountable. We’re going to come in and work every day and try to get better.”
