This is getting interesting.

The Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks are now among James Harden’s list of preferred destinations, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

The former MVP has made no secret of his desire to leave the Houston Rockets, with the Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers understood to be his prime choices. The Heat and Bucks, though, would also enhance his chances of winning his first title given the former made it to the NBA Finals this year and the latter seemingly one piece away from a championship.

Harden has a frosty relationship with Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo so the dynamics of such a trade would be interesting. As for Miami, the NBA finalists have valuable young assets they could add to a potential trade but Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra will have a hard time doing so given their prospects for the future.

Per Charania: “The Rockets don’t have an urgency to move Harden and the franchise expects a mammoth package for the six-time All-NBA first team performer: along the lines of a young star and tremendous draft assets.”
