The defending NBA champions Los Angeles Lakers have a short time to prepare for the coming season and to integrate the new additions into their game. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope thinks that the Lakers will be ready for the season sooner that people expect them to.

The 27-year-old guard, who signed a new three-year, $39 million contract with the Lakers, thinks that the veterans that the team brought in will help with building team chemistry.

“I think we’re going to be ready sooner than expected,” KCP said. “Because of the veteran guys that we did bring in. Marc, Wes Matthews and the younger two guys we have Dennis and Trez. I feel like it’s going to be as quick as possible.

“The guys know how to play. Marc has a championship with Toronto so he has that mindset, that mentality already. Other guys are just hungry I would say. They want that title. They want to come in and prove themselves. I feel like the chemistry is going to be put together as soon as possible.”
