The Washington Wizards are ready to enter the season with high hopes, especially after acquiring Russell Westbrook on a trade with the Houston Rockets.

The Wizards are going to have one of the most talented backcourts in the East on Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook. However, Beal also seems to have great expectations for the Wizards’ 2020 first-round selection Deni Avdija.

(via NBC Sports):

“He has a lot of dog and he doesn’t back down. He has great size he’s a lot bigger than people think,” Beal said, after Wizards’ Day 1 of practice.

“He can shoot very well, nice touch, nice form, we just have to get him a better feel of the game at the three or four [position] once hes fully acclimated, just like Rui [Hachimura].”

Avdija came in the Wizards’ squad this offseason, after competing on an active role in EuroLeague’s powerhouse Maccabi Tel Aviv the previous season.

The promising forward ended up playing 33 games in the Israeli league, averaging 12.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest. He shot 35.2% from beyond the arc and 52.6% from the field.
