The Los Angeles Lakers made a number of roster changes this offseason. The defending NBA champions parted ways with Danny Green, Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, JaVale McGee, Quinn Cook, Avery Bradley while at the same adding Montrezl Harrell, Dennis Schroder, Marc Gasol, Wesley Matthews.

According to point guard Alex Caruso, changing the roster gives the Lakers an advantage over other teams because it also changes their game style and makes it more difficult for opponents to figure it out.

“I think that’s one of the big things from last year. The more times you play somebody the better chance you have of figuring out their system and figuring out ways to beat them,” Caruso said.

“I think we did a good job of mixing that up throughout the year and coaching staff putting us in the right positions. And then finally we got to the end and won it. I think it’s almost a benefit to us to not have the same exact system coming back.

“I think it’s gonna be another challenge for teams around the league to figure out how to beat us, how we’re playing. And then we counter back we go back at them and make some adjustments.”
