Chris Paul made his first media appearance as a member of the Phoenix Suns, and compared Devin Booker’s passion for basketball to his.

The veteran superstar had high-praise for the Suns’ leading star expressing his anticipation to play with him in Phoenix’s backcourt.

(via Arizona Sports 98.7 FM):

“I always say this over my career: there’s a few things that are sort of going to draw you to a person depending on what you have in common. I love basketball. I love to be in the gym, love to hoop, I’m a gym rat — Book is like that,” Paul said. “When you got guys like that, it’s easy to get along.”

“When you’re a fan of the game, you see different pieces. I done known Book for a long time. He’s not only a talented … he’s a dog. He’s really competitive,” Paul continued. “Like I know Book, know Book. When we hoop and play against each other, we about to fight. Damn near about to fight a couple of times.”

The Suns are looking to put an end to a 10-year playoff drought bringing in Paul in the team to form one of the strongest backcourt duos in the league with Booker.

The previous season, in a similar situation with OKC, the “Point God” led the Thunder’s young core to the fifth seed and the 2020 NBA playoffs.
