Might the "Curry Brand" be as big as the Jordan Brand in the future?

Steph Curry has revealed his new “Curry Brand” will look to sign other athletes and won’t be restricted to basketball.

Under Armour announced the brand on Monday and Tuesday will see to its official launch. Curry, a three-time NBA champion, spoke to Bleacher Report on the development and, asked what would mark success for his new venture, said the following:

“Eventually, I’m gonna be out the way. Success will be measured by how many champions, how many ambassadors, people of like mind want to join the fray. And doing good in the world. To wave this flag with me through this whole journey.”

“It’s definitely the plan [to sign other athletes to Curry Brand], not just in basketball but other sports too. There’s some work being done on that front,” he continued.

The venture is one similar to what Nike did with Michael Jordan several years ago. The move saw Nike go from being a relatively small fish in the pond to the largest predator therein – Under Armour’s association with Curry is turning them into a favorite in the basketball community as well.

“There are similarities,” Curry said on the comparison to the Jordan brand. “When it comes to the purpose behind what we’re doing and how we show up, it’ll be entirely different. All the comparisons and all that type of stuff, have at it.”
