The Los Angeles Lakers are the grand favorite to win the 2021 NBA championship, according to Charles Barkley.
As the NBA Hall of Famer and TNT analyst believes, via Lakers Daily, ‘the Lakers are going to be the clear front-runner for the championship’.
The Lakers, who won the 2020 NBA title in October, made some impressive moves during the free agency, which bring them in pole position to repeat.
More specifically, they brought in Dennis Schroder, Montrezl Harrell, Marc Gasol and Wesley Matthews, while they re-signed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Markieff Morris.
Even though they saw Avery Bradley, Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, Danny Green and JaVale McGee leave the team (as free agents or via trades), the Lakers have upgraded their roster and are expected to headline the title race in the NBA.
At the same time, All-Star forward Anthony Davis is expected to sign a new, lucrative contract with the Lakers in the coming days.
The NBA will open training camps this Tuesday, December 1st, while the regular season will tip off on December 22.
