Nicolas Batum is expected to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers once he clears waivers, per Shams Charania. The Hornets waived the veteran forward for cap flexibility.
Batum attracted interest from several teams including the Brooklyn Nets, however he seems ready to join the Clippers.
Last year was the worst season of Batum’s career, as he dropped to an average of 3.6 points per game from 11.6 points in 2017/18 season.
Batum was set to earn $27.1M next season, but the Hornets stretched the rest of his deal to create cap space for Gordon Hayward’s $120M deal.
The Clippers will add depth and veteran leadership in discount, as they might sign Batum on the veteran minimum.
