J.J. Barea agrees to deal with Dallas Mavericks

Veteran point guard J.J. Barea will reportedly stay with the Dallas Mavericks for another season. According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, the 36-year-old Puerto Rican agreed to a one-year deal with the Mavs for the veteran’s minimum.

Barea appeared in 29 regular season games for Dallas last season averaging 7.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. He also played in a single playoff game scoring 3 points in 5 minutes of play.

Barea joined the Mavericks back in 2014 after three years with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Prior to that he played for Dallas through 2006-2011 winning a championship in 2011.
