Marc Gasol opened up about his decision to leave the Toronto Raptors and join the defending champions Los Angeles Lakers.

Gasol said he is going to miss his teammates and the city of Toronto.

“I told my teammates that remain there how much they meant to me… I’m gonna miss them a lot, I can’t lie to you, because we went though something together that’s very unique, very special and creates a bond forever. And no one can take that away from us.

I’m going to miss Toronto. It’s been a great place. My family was very settled there, very comfortable… That’s just the way, sadly, this business goes, but I thought my run in Toronto could not get better,” Gasol said, via Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports.

Gasol spent one and half seasons with the Raptors and won the 2019 NBA championship. The veteran center agreed to a two-year, $5.25M deal with the Lakers, with no team or player option included in it.
