Bradley Beal was the ‘driving force’ behind a trade involving John Wall and Russell Westbrook, according to Jackie MacMullan of ESPN.

As the NBA insider said, Beal was the one that wanted Westbrook to join the Washington Wizards in exchange for Wall.

“I thought Westbrook was going to Washington. And I had heard that Bradley Beal was driving the Westbrook thing and that they were actually going to include a pick potentially and it wasn’t just a one-for-one that they were actually putting in more,” MacMullan said during his appearance on the Bill Simmons podcast.

Wall and Westbrook has three years and $133M left on their current contracts. Wall has not played in the NBA since December of 2018 due to injuries.

Westbrook averaged 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 7.0 assists for the Houston Rockets last season, but it seems he is willing to leave the team.

For his part, Beal has become the franchise player of the Wizards and averaged career-best numbers of 30.5 points and 6.1 assists.
