The Memphis Grizzlies revealed the City edition uniform Tuesday honoring singer/songwriter Isaac Hayes and Stax Records.

Both Hayes and Stax Records played a huge role in Memphis music scene making a variety of beautiful sounds during the years.

(per SB Nation):

“The font color and structure inspired by Hayes’ Cadillac El Dorado. The signature sunglasses on the jersey. The African Kente cloth-inspired pattern calling to mind Hayes’ activism and fashion sense. All these aspects connect and intertwine with the fabric of Memphis culture, a culture that the Grizzlies have become a major part of these last 20 years.”

Memphis has entered a new era of the franchise, after parting ways with Marc Gasol and Mike Conley, who were the last players of the ‘grind-and-grind’ Grizzlies’ team.

Now, with Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. at the front, the Grizzlies are starting to pave the way of creating a new successful team in Memphis.
