Wayne Ellington joins Detroit Pistons for a second stint

The Detroit Pistons added Wayne Ellington on an one-year deal worth $2.6M. This will be his second stint in Detroit, the first came just under two years ago.

The 11-year veteran spent the previous season with the New York Knicks having 36 appearances under his belt with the NY franchise.

His 15.5 minutes per game in the 2019-2020 season was the lowest of his career since the 2013-2014 season when he was with the Dallas Mavericks.

He is a career 37.8% three-point shooter scoring 8.0 points per contest in his 681 NBA career games. The Pistons are going young this season hoping to rebuild under new general manager Troy Weaver.

Ellington will offer depth in the shooting guard and veteran leadership in Detroit. He also played for various NBA franchises including Minnesota, Dallas, Cleveland, the Lakers, Memphis, Brooklyn and Miami.
