The Miami Heat have decided to sign big man Bam Adebayo to an extension, according to a report coming from The Athletic.
The publication cites a source who tells them the NBA finalists plan to sign this year’s first-time All-Star to a five-year deal worth $163 million with a trigger for the $195.6 million rookie maximum. The Boston Celtics recently signed Jayson Tatum to a similar deal.
It was thought that the team might hold off on extending Bam in order to secure a deal for Giannis Antetokounmpo next year but it appears they’re keen on holding onto what they have.
