Bogdan Bogdanovic reportedly feels ‘de-prioritized’ by the Kings; prefers a move to the East

Bogdan Bogdanovic signed the Atlanta Hawks’ offer sheet of a four-year, $72 million contract and the Kings are only hours away from the decision to either match or let the shooting guard move to Atlanta.

Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee reported Monday that Bogdanovic “would prefer to move on”, given that he feels “de-prioritized” within the Kings organization.

With Vlade Divac as the head of the FO, the Kings were expected to re-sign the guard/forward from Serbia. On the other hand, under new general manager Monte McNair, Sacramento reportedly tried to trade Bogdanovic to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The former Fenerbahce superstar was not interested in moving to Milwaukee, and, now, the Atlanta Hawks are close to acquire him without compensating the Kings.

Keeping Bogdanovic at that price would limit other roster moves for the Kings this offseason, since $18 million for him this season would push the Kings nearly $6 million over the $109.1 million salary cap.

Bogdanovic averaged a career-best 15.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in a career-high 29.0 minutes per game, leading the Kings to a 31-41 record last season.
