The New York Knicks found their backup center for the next season. In particular, Nerlens Noel signed a one-year deal, worth $5M, with the New York’s franchise.

This is the second move for the Knicks on the second day of the free agency, after re-signing point guard Elfrid Payton.

Noel finished the previous season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The University of Kentucky product averaged 7.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in just 18.5 minutes per game across 61 appearances for his team.

Noel, 26, should slide in the backup role for the Knicks, as Mitchell Robinson will be the starting five for Tom Thibodeau’s squad.
