The Detroit Pistons are trading Tony Snell and Khyri Thomas to the Atlanta Hawks for Dewayne Dedmon, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Dedmon, 31, was acquired by the Hawks at last year’s trade deadline from the Sacramento Kings and averaged 5.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in 44 total games.

The Pistons will more than likely deal Dedmon elsewhere, as they are shifting into a rebuilding mode.

Getting rid of Snell will open up more minutes on the wing for players like Svi Mykhailiuk, Sekou Doumbouya and newly drafted Saddiq Bey from Villanova, notes James Edwards III of The Athletic.

Snell, 29, averaged 8.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in 59 games.

The Hawks got more depth with the addition of Snell, as he will backup wing players Kevin Huerter, De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish.

Thomas, 24, will be waived by the Hawks, according to Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The No. 38 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft only played 34 games for the Pistons in his two-year NBA career, including 26 in the 2018-2019 season and eight last season.
