John Wall did not expect to hear Tommy Sheppard, the GM of the Washington Wizards, saying the team is building around Bradley Beal.
Wall was ‘surprised’ by that comment as he believes he would be the team’s leader next season, per Chris Miller of NBC Sports Washington.
Wall is coming off a two-year absence, as he was dealing with serious injuries. On the other hand, Beal had a stellar year last season, averaging 30.5 points and 6.1 assists.
Wall, who is under contract with the Wizards until 2023 and is set to earn $131.5M for the next three seasons, could have a reduced role next year.
