Giannis Antetokounmpo intends to sign his supermax contract extension with the Milwaukee Bucks, says Marc Stein of the New York Times.

Antetokounmpo is eligible to sign his contract extension, worth $230-240M, this offseason and he has until December 21 to do so.

If he turns it down, though, he will become a free agent in the summer of 2021.

For their part, the Bucks are doing their best to convince the back-to-back MVP to remain with the team.

Therefore, they have already started bolstering the roster, as they acquired Jrue Holiday and Bogdan Bogdanovic via trade from the New Orleans Pelicans and the Sacramento Kings, respectively.
