Way ahead of the 2020 NBA Draft, Cole Anthony was projected to be a potential top pick. However, an up-and-down season with North Carolina hurt his draft stock. Even though his numbers looked good on paper, he shot at a below-average rate.

In 22 games with the Tar Heels, Anthony averaged 18.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1.3 steals. Whilst converting 38% FG and 34.8% from beyond the arc.

The 20-year-old also missed 6 weeks of action between late December and January due to a partially torn meniscus.

In pre-draft media availability ahead of the draft on November 18, Anthony was asked by NBA Call-Ups if he has been in contact with any NBA players through his journey to the professional ranks.

He revealed that he has sought advice from star duo Damian Lillard and Kemba Walker. Even though he said he hasn’t worked out with either, he has presented basketball-related questions to each of them.

“Honestly, not really. I’m certainly very cool with some guys. Mo Bamba is one of my best friends. I’m cool with a bunch of players but in terms of my development, probably not.”

“I’ve talked with Kemba (Walker), Dame Lillard a little bit asking questions about the game. But in terms of helping, nothing really hands-on.”
