Rajon Rondo is expected to cash in on his incredible postseason performance with the Los Angeles Lakers and enter the free-agent market, per Brad Turner.
Rondo currently has a $2.6M player option in his contract with the Lakers. The L.A franchise has covered the starting point guard position by trading for Dennis Schroder, in a deal expected to go through early this week.
With Schroder’s contract on the books, the cap-space will be limited for Rondo ahead of the 2020 NBA free agency.
As a result, various teams expressed interest in signing the veteran guard this offseason with the Hawks and the Clippers being among the suitors, per various reports.
