The Toronto Raptors remain confident about a new deal with Fred VanVleet, who is a free agent this offseason.
VanVleet is expected to attract a lot of interest from several teams, yet the Raptors believe they can re-sign him.
“The word around the NBA is the Raptors maintain a quiet confidence they can get something done with their 26-year-old homegrown star: the relationship is good, the lines of communications remain open, they have history.
As well, in theory, they can match or exceed any deal given VanVleet is their own free agent,” Michael Grange of SportsNet reports.
The NBA will open free agency next Friday, November 20.
