Kostas Koufos could be returning to the NBA, after one season with EuroLeague giant CSKA Moscow, as Chris Fedor of cleveland.com reports.

In particular, Koufos, an Ohio alumni, would love to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers with several teams being interested in securing his services, Fedor wrote.

“With NBA free agency set to open in about a week, sources say multiple teams have reached out to Koufos’ agent about his plans,” Fedor reported. “Being from Canton, sources say the 7-footer would love to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who may seek cheap frontcourt depth this offseason”

Although the Greek center signed a two-year deal with CSKA Moscow in July 2019, he is looking to return to the NBA.

Koufos played for the Sacramento Kings during the 2018/19 campaign, while he had been also played for Denver, Utah, Memphis and Minnesota, prior to his decision to sign with CSKA.

The NBA veteran could be proved a reliable back-up option for the Cavaliers, especially if Tristan Thompson decides to leave the team.

Thompson is not reportedly satisfied with Cleveland’s initial offer. The big man of the Cleveland Cavaliers will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
