Giannis Antetokounmpo talks on future with the Milwaukee Bucks

Giannis Antetokounmpo is going to be an unrestricted free agent, if he does not sign an extension during the 2020/21 season.

The Milwaukee Bucks’ superstar spoke on his future with the organization on an interview with Swedish journalist Alexander Nilsson.

Antetokounmpo is eligible for a supermax extension this offseason, worth around $221 million over five years. If he turned that down and left for a new team in free agency next summer, the most he could sign for would be $140 million over four years.

The back-to-back MVP is coming out from a historic season with the Bucks, but a disappointing performance in the postseason put an end to the organization’s title hopes.

Milwaukee will have to make changes for them to progress further in the postseason, with the Bucks being interested in trading for Chris Paul, Victor Oladipo and Bogdan Bogdanovic.
